Business Director | Producer | Project Manager
Josh is graduate of Media Production (TV & Radio) at Sunderland. He is now taking the new Creative Industry Practice course.
Studying at the University of Sunderland has enabled him to embrace and become a part of an award winning multi-platform media brand. 107 Spark FM (part of the Spark Sunderland brand) is the North East largest community radio station, Exclusively for Sunderland. Over its recent history it has won numerous industry accolades including the Community Spirit 2010 & 2011 and the Charity Champion 2012 award at the I Love Student Radio Awards. It has been named the Best Radio Station in The North East two years running (2010/11 & 2011/12) by The Radio Academy‘s Nation and Regions Award and was nominated Best Station 2010 at the Student Radio Awards. Here he held various positions including Programme Controller (December 2010-October 2011).
In 2011 Josh completed an internship with the Royal Television Society as the Awards Administrator. Here he helped organise the RTS North East & Border Centre Awards, held at The Sage, Gateshead in March 2012. This involved him implementing a logical structure to handle award entries and communicate sensitive information to the judging panels.
Josh is now looking at moving the direction of his career from radio to film/TV, with the aim in life of becoming part of team responsible for project managing a cross platform project. His ultimate career goal is to become a Commissioner where he will involve a variety of talented creative practitioners to produce emotive and thought-provoking content.
